                         The Goal
Very simply, our goal is to help ourselves provide for our own future health and social wellbeing needs by purchasing a disused Victorian Infant School, and together with partners, transform it into an anchor organisation, a charitable business, known locally as
Abergavenny Community Centre & Park Street Enterprises [CIC]
The added-benefits that spring from the vision to bring people and places together encourages a sense of belonging and a true sense of wellbeing in children, families and older people living in and around the historic market town of Abergavenny, in South Wales. Unlocking existing - but presently untapped - creative human potential is at the heart of revitalising and future-proofing our community, and livelihoods.

The former PARK STREET INFANTS SCHOOL is the catalyst  - an anchoring point - from where community regeneration and planned renewal can begin to take hold in Abergavenny.

- We want to hold a public asset in trust not only to meet present needs but to enable future generations to meet theirs too.

- Ownership of an asset allows us to set local priorities and it will lay a foundation for working in a collaborative way to meet those priorities - present, new and emerging.

- We will operate a
not-for-profit business model which just means that any profits that we do make is recycled back through the charity and into the community for the good of people and the environment - and not into someone's pocket. An ethical business like ours, operates along four bottom lines.

- Community-ownership creates a brand new platform for the emergence of local enterprise and new investment connected with regeneration.

- Re-duce. Re-use. Re-cycle. Up-cycle. The community hub will make practical sense of the mantra.

- Equipping children and young people with a set of life skills, and knowledge to keep them in control of decisions and choices they face now and later.

We made a short film to help us tell the unfolding story.
