Health and Well being
Local residents are championing a community-led vision to buy Park Street Infants School from the Local Authority and transform it into an inclusive COMMUNITY CENTRE for the town.   Please join us in this exciting regeneration project.

By adopting a community land trust model our aim is to secure the land and buildings for community ownership - away from private interests. The golden-fleece is emphatically to preserve a public space for community benefit for our shared-futures.

Health and Well-Being is at the root of communities so it's something we all know and care about. Social gain which flows from the Centre makes the community both the stakeholder and beneficiary. Whether you're young, old or middling there are benefits for you and your family members; friends, neighbours and visitors. To see proposed facilities and services visit  What's in it for me?

Our community and voluntary capacity presents opportunities to attract ethical lending, grant aid and philathropic gifts and to make the financial package as broad and as complimentary as possible, we have chosen to include public subscription.

To give the community a firm stake in the enterprise we are seeking voluntary contributions to the value of £200k. Considerably more is needed to
buy the property to which end a sound business case is being prepared alongside the shares issue.         Cost of shares can be spread among friends, family and groups or contact us to join your part-share with another.

ONE CHANCE AT SUCCESS

To enable us to meet deadlines and possibly access bridge-funding we need to know how many pledges we have 'in the bank'. We acknowledge it is a 'big ask' for Abergavenny but we're optimistic that through enterprise and etrepreneurship - and hard voluntary effort -  that community spirit will unlock the doors needed to turn this vision into reality.
This genuine
regeneration opportunity will only come once to Abergavenny.

At the moment, we only expect
PLEDGES
If contributions meet our expectation then a Share Issue will follow giving clear guidance on how to turn your pledge into a cash gift.

At March 2008
Individual contributions stands at £15k
Over 400 local people have pledged their personal support. That's quite a voice representing Abergavenny's elderly, families and individuals.
Thank You.
